Open Air: Louise King + Monika Koerner

From sweeping hilltops to hidden lakes and spectacular ocean-scapes, Open Air is a beautiful collision of music, people and place. Featuring some of Australia’s most loved musicians in intimate outdoor concerts set against the Sunshine Coast’s spectacular natural environment, the Open Air experience is not to be missed.

Acclaimed classical artists Monika Koerner (Ensemble Trivium, Camerata Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra) and Louise King (Cello Dreaming, Muses Trio, Sunshine Coast Chamber Music Festival) present an afternoon of dreamy music on cello and flute.

Inspired by the fog rolling over eucalypt-laden mountains, the concert will include repertoire by traditional composers such as Beethoven, Villa Lobos, and Piazzolla playfully interspersed with impressionist solo works by Debussy, Casals, Rodrigo, alongside more contemporary Australian composers such as Leah Curtis, Elena Kats-Chernin and Ross Edwards.

This artistic collaboration was born from a desire to bring the intimacy and diversity of chamber music to new audiences. Set in the hinterland paradise of Montvale Estate, let yourself be transported by the elegant and uplifting sounds.

Seating will be provided at this event or you can bring your own picnic rug to sit on. Please wear warm clothing as it gets cold once the sun sets.
