Emma Lindsay is an Australian artist based in Brisbane. Lindsay's paintings and interdisciplinary art projects explore humanity's fraught contemporary relationship with the Earth's threatened species and environments. She undertakes environmental fieldwork, and she researches archival data from the fields of art, science, history and the environmental humanities. Her PhD paintings Extinction Flock (29 extinct Australian bird specimens) were exhibited as part of the inaugural Queensland Museum 2016 World Science Festival Brisbane program and are now held in the UQ Collection. Lindsay’s work has been shown nationally and internationally in solo and group shows, including the This Wild Song Project documenting Australian female artists (Melbourne and Singapore 2018).
